Role in the Community St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital is a teaching hospital of the University of Queensland through the Rural Clinical School based in Toowoomba. In addition, the hospital provides for student nurse training through the University of Southern Queensland and Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE. During 2005 - 2007, the hospital completed building developments totaling $12.0 million. Approximately 90% of all building contractors utilized on the building developments were local Toowoomba tradesmen.
