Terrible grooming, worse customer interaction
The Paws Up Google Review has been turned off. No surprise, I imagine it would have been flooded with negative comments. Our experience was a terrible one for us and our dog.
The credit card showed up as Stylish Dog Grooming merchant facility, but their purported trading name name was Paws Up?
We were initially greeted by an unsmiling and unfriendly reception person who was matter of fact. Seems fitting in hindsight that was our first impression of the unloving care these groomers offer. And it got worse from there.
I asked the receptionist to text me and not my wife when the dog was ready. Despite my request she text my wife instead. Minor I know, but painting the full picture.
When we finally picked up our dog he had been trimmed so amateurishly, particularly around his ears. I politely asked the receptionist if they could please fix up his ears, so she called out what appeared to be the manager. The manager was defensive and combative from the outset. One of our dog's ears was cut lower than the other ear. She told us it was cut even although it was apparent it was not. After assuring us it was even she just hacked it off (at the reception desk mind you) to equalise it without tapering it. Dreadful result.
She still maintained it was a good job and evenly cut, while raising her voice. I approached it politely, and if she had done the same I would be accepting of the poor haircut. The absence of an apology and lack of acknowledgement of the poor service speaks volumes of their ability and professionalism.
I informed the manager we were not happy with the grooming overall, so she walked behind the door and told us to go to another groomer and slammed the door in my face. I asked her to come back but she arrogantly waved us away.
I was so frustrated, I walked outside to the display window dog grooming area and told her she was a disgrace, and a terrible groomer.
I guess you need no training or qualifications to call yourself a dog groomer. It is as though they assembled all possible non-dog lovers in the area for one of the few jobs that would require some level of love for animals.
I guess Paws Up believe all customers should accept poor quality service and pay $115 for a 1.5hr 'groom' that is so negligent and uncaring you'd think you dropped your dog off at the local butcher shop by mistake. If you dare politely voice concern and a request to resolve their terrible cut, they will take no accountability, offer no apology, hurrily trim your dog at the reception desk then push you out the door and tell you to find a new groomer.
This place is probably dodgy. They offer a 10% discount for cash. Their workroom looked like a sweatshop. It would not be fair to house 4 dogs in there at once while being groomed... yet I counted 10 poor dogs.
They do not even value their own service, that is why they do not have a registered Google Business likely in anticipation of receving negative Google Reviews! Why would you trust someone who doesn't trust their own service?
NEVER I mean never !!!! go here , they are very rude won’t talk to you about any enquires after grooming only to tell you to go somewhere else !!!! … they don’t care about return business, save yourself $150 and go to a groomer who cares
The manager who gets the dog from us is soo rude and could use a smile. They handle the dogs behind our backs very badly, I witnessed this one time on some small dog and felt really bad. Not taking my dog there ever again. They just run a shady business and charge you silly. Please don't take your precious pooches to them. Awful and rude. She has no answers to any questions asked. Terrible customer experience. Feel like reporting her to the authorities.
the manager was rude, charged extra for nots (which weren’t there), were clearly rude to my mum, telling her to never come back and that if she doesn’t pay that they won’t give back our dog, despite my mum being reasonable and calm. The lady in front of us also complained and the manager/owner was simply rude and unapologettic, tell your friends not to come here, you will be mistreated and overcharged. They also charge an extra $15 for my dog having a ‘temper’ when he is just a playful puppy. This haircut was necessary for my puppy prior to a surgery and the manager was unnecessarily difficult. do not ever go here.
Simply...DO NOT HAVE YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE!!!
I wondered why this groomer always has last minute availability when some groomers require weeks and weeks ahead of time. It is because she runs a very shady business. She makes up the prices as she goes along, claiming the dogs had matting but she actually shaved the matting off, half my dogs tail was shaved. The other dog's head looked like a cone head, with long and short all over. I could go on and on but I won't. The lack of service, care factor, variable pricing speak for themselves. It's no wonder she longer has a Facebook page, and there is no Google profile and no on line presence. This all paints a very shady picture of this business. Not to mention that the ATO will be knocking on the door as she offers a "cheaper for cash" option. BUYER BEWARE!!!
After taking my dog to Paws Up Dog Grooming for 3 years I was told that I was no longer welcome to come back. The owner/manager was rude and her customer service was disgusting. On my last visit I had mentioned to the receptionist that the prices had gone up extensively which they had and just asked if they could trim my dogs face a little better as it was uneven the last time. She obviously did not like this so I was not expecting such rude in my face abuse and I was left feeling quite traumatised by her words. After my husband found out he decided to go and speak to the owner/managerand all he got was verbal abuse. She swore and shouted to him whilst my husband remained calm. She pointed out my husband to her staff that he was the owner of this fkn sht dog that had been coming to them for 3 years. My dog is very anxious and can be difficult to groom at times but I certainly did not expect to have been abused by this individual. She also proceeded to call the police whilst still swearing and yelling profound language whilst making sure she was not in the cameras view . I would definitely not recommend this groomer as her customer service was unprofessional and the welfare and care of animals do not rate high in her eyes.
