The Nursery Eric Fleming started a family Nursery business in the 1920's in Monbulk near Melbourne, now called Fleming's Nurseries. His six sons have all followed him into the business. The family purchased Eyles Citrus Nursery at Beverford. One season later Maurie purchased and opened up Murray Valley Nurseries at Wood Wood. The Nursery now has three generations: Maurie, son Greg, and Mauries grandson Shane, with properties at Wood Wood and Silvan in Victoria and Barham in New South Wales. Murray Valley Nurseries is the largest Citrus Nursery in Australia, supplying Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania with the best fruit and ornamental trees available, and regularly sell to small and large retailers as well as growers. The business is continually growing each year, so extensions to the Nursery and number of trees grown is increasing yearly. The Nursery is also involved in the Australian Cricket Bat Willow Project, as the forestry contractor. The Nursery is currently growing several thousand English Willow trees to be made into cricket bats in the near future. As Australia's largest Willow plantation, Murray Valley Nurseries are the most suitable for its maintenance and care, and are proud to be part of Australian Cricket.
