Business Owner: John McLaren About John I was an Advanced Life Support Officer (Advanced Care Paramedic) in the Ambulance Service NSW since 1988, after joining the Service as a General Duties Officer in 1985. Prior to that I was employed as an Enrolled Nurse with Hastings District Hospital from 1979 and upon moving to Taree in 1988 also had been employed at the Mayo Private Hospital in their Theatre Suite on a casual basis as an Anaesthetic Technician. For 18 years I have taught First Aid classes to the general public for St. John Australia, Ambulance NSW, and Parasol EMT Pty. Ltd as part of my belief that every person should know basic first aid. In 1996 my then wife and I formally began our consulting business (www.com.au) specialising in all areas of First Aid. I have completed my Diploma of Paramedical Sciences and Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Pre-Hospital Care) with Charles Sturt University, I was a Preceptor with New England University and am an experienced Training Officer with the Ambulance Service of NSW.
