Goodstart Idalia Lakeland Boulevard is located just ten minutes outside the centre of Townsville and close to Lavarack Army Barracks as well as local schools, shops and transport routes. Our child care centre prides itself on the long term commitment of our educators. Goodstart Idalia Lakeland Boulevard caters for children 6 weeks of age to 12 years in an early learning, before school, after school and vacation care environments. For families looking for a Kindergarten Program we are happy to provide access to our Kindergarten room with a Bachelor Qualified Teacher. Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning. Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre. Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. Children enjoy the natural environments of the playground and building relationships with our centre pets. We have beautiful trees and lots of shade as well as a gazebo, cubby, sustainability area with worm farms, sandpits and a balance of natural and manmade surfaces. Educators are very committed to furthering their qualifications as well as holding a Blue Card and current First Aid. Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience.
