The Cancer Support Group ACT Eden Monaro’s Own provides is financial assistance to cancer patients and the family residing with them. Cancer does not wait for a convenient time to call on a family nor does it take into account the financial impact it will have on a family. When an adult gets cancer it usually means either taking time off work or leaving their job entirely while receiving treatment. It may also be necessary for their partner to take time off work to care for them. This does not mean that the normal household bills stop. And there are additional costs which come with cancer treatment. We also assist by providing emotional support and relief to the families. This mainly takes the form of our office staff being available to listen to the concerns of the cancer patients and their families, provide referrals to other services which are available and providing opportunities for cancer patients and their families to attend events at no cost. Some of these events include our fundraisers like the Hawaiian Ball and the Convoy for Cancer. Other events are made available to us by donations of free tickets by event holders. The opportunities to enjoy a day out with their families are greatly reduced for cancer patients due to their financial situation. The cancer patients and their families tell us that they really enjoy these events and appreciate the time out as a family. We rely on our fudraising efforts and donations to provide ongoing services to cancer patients in need of finacial assistance, we are always looking for people to assist by either volunteering or donating. Thank you for considering joining our family. CSG MERCHANDISE Show your support for The Cancer Support Group with some of our fantastic merchandise. Donations over $2 are tax deductable.

The Sheepmeat Council of Australia (SCA) was formed in 1978 and is the peak national body that represents and promotes the interests of lamb and sheepmeat producers in Australia. Our core business is policy development and lobbying. Sheepmeat Council is recognised as the prescribed industry body by the Australian Meat and Livestock Industry Act 1997. Sheepmeat Council’s key role is scrutinising the performance of and setting the strategic imperatives to be pursued by levy funded bodies, in particular, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), Animal Health Australia and the National Residue Survey. Sheepmeat Council provides policy advice to the federal Minister for Agriculture and makes recommendations to the Minister on the rate of levy to apply. Sheepmeat Council of Australia is funded by voluntary membership subcriptions paid by State Farm Organisations and through the industry activities it performs for all sheep and lamb levy payers on behalf of the Red Meat Advisory Council (RMAC). Advocates and pursues the policy and political interests of the nation’s sheepmeat producers Promotes the professionalism of the sheepmeat industry in Australia and globally Influences key state, national and international stakeholders and forums, including Governments, to preserve and grow the position of Australia’s sheepmeat producers Scrutinises the performance and sets the strategic imperatives to be pursued by levy funded bodies, such as Meat & Livestock Australia, Animal Health Australia and the National Residue Survey Brokers industry and government programs and funding arrangements Represents and promotes the views of Australian sheepmeat producers in the national media.

Any beef producer in Australia can become a member of the Cattle Council of Australia. Membership is $100 + GST per individual (for those already members of a State Farming Organisation, the membership fee is waived).
