I have to say my recent incident with my hearing aid was not good and could be very expensive. I obtained my hearing aid RIC x19 and CROS RIC 19 from SpecSavers. Just recently the hearing aid need to be looked at regarding a moisture problem so I put the CROS in a case and used an old hearing aid. When the repair was complete I had the aid fitted and at the same time inserted the CROS. The audiologist handled the CROS and all appeared fine and in working order. You can imagine my surprise when I arrived home to fine that the CROS had come away from the ear piece and fallen off somewhere in my travels. I approached the shopping centre and shop I had visited to no avail, it is a very small object after all. I then went to SpecSavers and basically was told that I would have to purchase another CROS but that they don't actually have them as individual pieces, usually sold as a pair with the hearing aid and mine were not the latest. I am not flipant about hearing aids as my eldest son who was born deaf has been wearing aids from the age of 4. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. These are not cheap items and I am very careful with them. For the wire to break and the behind the ear piece to fall away is what it is but I felt you should be aware of the incident. I will not be replacing the CROS as I cannot afford it and will move forward with just the hearing aid. At my age you learn to adapt.
