For anyone looking for a gym to join, allow me to advise against joining Camperdown Fitness (in Camperdown, Sydney, NSW, Australia for those of you who will be reading this on various forums I will be posting this to). Never in my life have I been spoken to so rudely, or made to feel as stupid as I was made to feel today by one of the owners. I was misinformed upon joining, when I was assured that use of the the new Crossfit gym facility would be included in the cost of my membership, and rather than acknowledging the mistake and apologising (which was all I was hoping for), this guy called me a liar and stated that he would "make things easier for me and just cancel my membership on the spot". When I stated that that my boyfriend was told the same thing, he suggested we "call him so we can cancel both of your memberships right now". I was so frustrated and upset that i stood there crying in front of everyone at the gym counter, and he stood there and told me "I should be thanking him for making the Crossfit facility cheaper than most others". Rather than man up and actually talk to me about this he let the other staff deal with the cancelation of my membership right there and then. I will be posting this rant on every forum I can find. Do not waste your time or money at this place. Any gym owned by a man who speaks to people like this, and who would walk away from a young girl standing there crying after obviously being misinformed by another member of staff, does not deserve your money.
