I had a patio built by Oasis Patios in November 2012. Soon afterwards the roof was found to leak. At inspection an Oasis Patios Manager told me that it was built to Australian Standards so it was my problem. In time I found that it was also 35mm out of level, it was rusting, the trusses were bowing and sagging, and the plans submitted to Council were not my patio’s design. And there are other problems but, hey, you get the idea. I sought help: Oasis Patios ignored the WA Building Commission’s order to fix the complaints. Oasis Patios have subsequently ignored the Building Commission’s order to pay to have the problems remedied by a third party who can actually build a patio. So now, 15 months on, I have to take them to Court to have the order enforced. In my experienced, vexed opinion, you’ll be happier, better sheltered and have a fatter wallet by buying a golfing umbrella than enduring a tumbledown Oasis Patio. Lindsay Perth
