I have been a commercial/industrial property maintenance supervisor for the last 20 years so I deal with a LOT of tradesmen and a LOT of suppliers, and I have run the whole gamut from fantastic to terrible. I'm a big believer in Attention to Detail - and believe me I'm picky. 2x qualities I look out for in any contractor above all else is 1. THEY CARE and 2. THEY TRY. If the product quality is good, then the operational details can be ironed out along the way. It's not a question of everything going perfectly - minor complications usually arise (and if they don't you're lucky) - the crucial question is how people respond when they do. I replaced half the windows in my own house - I am renovating a 10yo 3 storey place in East Perth. I looked around and found that Avanti's frames were above market standard in terms of quality, and about on the mark for price. Typically I assess price after quality. Adam the account guy was patient and accommodating. He put up with a lot of to-ing and fro-ing on my behalf without a flinch. I am used to slick account guys but the Avanti reps are genuine and helpful, and they apply no follow-up pressure. Often I find customer service ends at the Sales Dept. You have to be careful with some bigger companies because the sales guys are on commission (read: pushy) and they rotate through the yellow pages subbie list for their installers and the result is invariably low grade with poor backup. Contrary to popular belief, some small owner op's also often have limited patience and customer service because their time budgets are tighter and they can't afford any complications because they don't manufacture the product they are installing. This job kicked up a couple of minor issues. One of them had to go "up the line" and Avanti management proved they can walk-the-walk as well as talk-the-talk. The Avanti installers are also professional, patient and polite. They understand attention to detail and can tolerate quality control. In my experience across-the-board service & quality is rare. I don't usually rave but am happy to go out of my way to do so if it is deserved. Avanti are not too big to care and not too small to try. Their product is above average and pricing is on the mark. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
