Review about Wheatbelt Agcare Family Counselling Services, Nungarin
11 years ago
This service is a rort. It is supposed to provide support to clients who need it but they are treated with disdain & rudeness by staff. It clearly supports the women working for it , not the needy out here in the wheatbelt. I am trying to find out who governs/funds it so I can report my experiences. The main counsellor works a three day week, using the Monday and Friday for travel to Perth (about 300km one way) to spend with her family, every weekend (fully funded by the service) despite being provided with a house in Nungarin (by the service). Also often on holidays (paid of course) The office is usually unattended, phonecalls & emails are not returned, for days, if at all. Emergency care is not decided by the counsellors in response to client need, but by an administration person who treats all clients the same, (not on a case by case basis) passes judgements without even having met the client & there is no laison between the social worker & the office person.Too bad if someone is in crisis. Clients are "fobbedoff", lied to, and the counselling is ad hoc. For instance, preaching new age dogma such as "You create your own reality with your own negative/positive thoughts" is a load of croc to someone facing a negative reality in THE REAL WORLD which they certainly did not create & can't change without some support. It's not available. They also breach client confidentiality. The main counsellor told me she only took the job because its well renumerated & she couldn't find work in Perth & hopes to leave asap, so thats a good indicator. I think anyone going to this service to try & make things better, will come out feeling worse.
