Review about Unique Autocraft, Brendale

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THESE HOPELESS, UNSKILLED, CHEATING MUPPETS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!
On 1/11/2021 we took our 2018 Holden Captiva ‘to Unique Autocraft after we accepted a quote of $625.94 for a service, 2x tyre replacement, washer pump repair and turbo intake hose inspection. When I dropped the car off, I explained that there was a noise that sounded like an air leak every time the turbo kicked in and this I wanted repaired after their inspection of the part.
The total for all the work done came to $2035.64, and prices quoted originally were less than the prices charged. One of the charges was $176 for the ‘Turbo Intake Air Pipe Leaking fixed’ (funnily enough the replacement hose used by ‘Reputable and Mechanically Skilled Mechanic’actually cost less than the patch that Unique Autocraft charged for). I paid the invoice, and left, immediately noticing the air leak sound was still there. I took the car back, took the owner/mechanic for a drive and explained it wasn’t fixed. He said he’d repaired the hose, there was no alarms on the vehicle computer and it was fine. I trusted his word and left, continuing to use the vehicle.
Within 1600kms of leaving Unique Autocraft our vehicle entered low power mode and a warning lite came on referencing the DPF had a fault. We subsequently did not drive the vehicle again, and due to financial hardship following my daughters 8 month hospital, stay did not get it looked at until 15/02/2022 at ‘Reputable and Mechanically Skilled Mechanic’. They explained that the previous repair had failed immediately, causing the DPF to seize up. They provided a video showing the failure of the previous repair , even using air quotes with the work ‘repair’, which was obviously a very cheap patch or very useless bit of tape that had at some point on 1/11/2021, been stuck onto the pipe. They also explained that they believe the ‘repair’ done by Unique Autocraft had likely failed immediately as the leaking noise continued straight away, and the ‘patch’ had just been caught in the engine bay the whole time. The total for the additional repairs at ‘Reputable and Mechanically Skilled Mechanic’ cost us $1590.90, all because the ‘repair’ done by Unique Autocraft wasn’t a repair at all. ‘Reputable and Mechanically Skilled Mechanic’ explained that Unique Autocare sending the vehicle away with the obvious leak in the turbo pipe still there, directly caused the failure of the DPF, and showed pure mechanical ineptitude. They said there is no way any self respecting mechanic would think a car that sounded like ours was ‘fine’.
When I returned to Unique Autocraft when the owner was available, he immediately claimed that because it had been so long they couldn’t do anything as my warranty was ‘for you only 1 month’, even though the vehicle had done less than 1600km from the service. They said it wasn’t their problem, and that I should have returned to vehicle to them. I explained that I returned the vehicle to them within about 300 seconds of leaving originally and they told me it was all fine. He then blew up about it and told me to ‘f*** off’. Despite me showing him the evidence he couldn’t even man up and admit he’d scammed me and cost me money, instead sitting behind his desk like a little b!tc#.
This is an obvious case of a unskilled tithead scamming people under the premise of ‘repair job’, charging me for it even though it had obviously and knowingly failed, costing me even more money to get repaired by someone with actual mechanical skills, and then trying to rub his hands of it because he knew he’d cheated his way into a couple thousand dollars that I stupidly paid and probably won’t get back.
To further cement their lack of mechanical skill, they charged me $49.50 to replace a low beam front headlight bulb, that also didn’t work when I checked it, and subsequently found out from ‘Reputable and Mechanically Skilled Mechanic’ that it was an electrical issue rather than the bulb.

i also took a vehicle for a service, after the service he identified some oil leaks, was quoted just under 3k for repairs, we had repairs done, on way home vehicle was making terrible noise, no power and engine management light was on. took it back and he had it for two days said he had made repairs but didn't tell us what, on the way home the engine light came back on, still terrible noise and lots of white smoke. took to an independent garage, now needs a whole new turbo, there was no oil in the vehicle, no oil filter change and seals were not placed correctly, some were just hanging off. please steer clear of this garage.
