Review about Bangkok Retreat Thai Massage, Ormond
4 years ago
I went in last week for a massage, saying I was feeling very tight in the lower back, shoulders and neck. The massage began well enough, after about 10 minutes, the masseuse was using her knees to massage my hamstrings, then, buttocks, then back.
I felt a sudden PAIN, and told her to stop. She had placed her knee against one of the ribs on the right side of my body, then used her entire body weight to push on it. Not surprisingly, she pushed it out of place. She seemed surprised that I was in pain, no idea what she might have done wrong.
Next day, I saw my GP, who confirmed what I already knew : the rib wasn't fractured, but had been briefly pushed out of place, rupturing and inflaming the tissue around the rib. A condition known as costochondritis. The only treatment is to take painkillers until the pain subsides after a couple of weeks.
I returned to the shop two days later to complain. The girl I spoke to had never heard of costochondritis. She said the manager was not in, but she would get them to call me. Nothing.
Amateurs, with no idea of customer service.
