Review about Cityside Motorcycles and Scooters, Rozelle
25 October 2025
10-Star Service from Sydney City Motorcycles & Scooters
I’m writing this before I forget, because the service I received from Sydney City Motorcycles & Scooters was nothing short of exceptional. About four weeks ago, I broke down on Spit Hill just after crossing the Spit Bridge heading to the city, around 2:30pm on a Friday. My late-model MV Agusta Brutale was stalling dangerously whenever I released the throttle and pulled in the clutch, especially during deceleration. It was a stop-and-go nightmare.
In a panic, I called several motorcycle workshops nearby. Not only did they say they couldn’t pick up the bike for days, but their quotes were outrageous. One shop even started diagnosing the issue over the phone and warned me it would be expensive, without even seeing the bike. I felt stranded and exploited.
Then I remembered a bright yellow building on Victoria Road in Rozelle, opposite the Bridge Hotel, a new motorcycle repairer I’d seen in passing. I Googled the number and called. A fellow named Drew answered. I explained my situation, expecting another rejection. But Drew said he was about to close and, just as I was thinking “Oh no”, he added that he was heading that way to pick up a scooter and could grab mine too. His pickup fee was refreshingly reasonable compared to the others. Drew was a lifesaver.
The following Tuesday, I visited the workshop. It’s small, well-equipped, and has a personal, welcoming vibe, nothing like the big shops that treat you like a number. Drew diagnosed the issue as a faulty Lambda (O2) sensor and replaced it in just 30 minutes. He only charged me for the sensor, the pickup, and half an hour of labour. I was genuinely relieved, it didn’t cost me my soul or my firstborn.
Drew is not only an extremely nice and honest person, but also a highly experienced motorcycle technician. His work was excellent, fairly priced, and delivered with genuine care. From now on, I’ll be taking my bike to his workshop. The expertise and personal service speak for themselves.
Five stars? No, ten stars, easily.
