Amtan Medical began in 2010 as a little practice in Main Beach. In April 2011, husband and wife team, and owners, Dr Ameer Hamza and Dr Tanya Unni, opened the first of their family friendly medical centres in Norfolk Village Shopping Centre at Ormeau. Practices in Reedy Creek, Pimpama and Pacific Pines followed. In June 2018, Dr Ameer and Dr Tanya launched their new brand AMTAN MEDICAL with the first of the new-look practices at Oxenford Village Shopping Centre. A second practice at Pimpama, and then Hope Island quickly followed. Ormeau Village is the latest addition to the Amtan Medical Group.

At Ormeau Physio we only employee registered and accredited physiotherapist who all who hold a postgraduate qualification as either a Doctor of Physiotherapy or Masters of Physiotherapy along with other degrees including Bachelor of Sports Science, and Bachelor of Sport Coaching and Exercise Science, with qualifications in dry needling, pilates, and a number of best practise physiotherapy treatment models. Our physio's have experience in private practice, elite sports and occupational physiotherapy (construction, mining and office) which means he can individualise a treatment for you. Our Principle Physio has postgraduate studies in pre-rehabilitation (work-hardening) and rehabilitation with low back pain patients have given him specialist knowledge in this area. Injury prevention is our focus - working together we can avoid pain by stopping an injury from ever happening in the first place. Additionally ergonomics, health and safety and return to work programs are some of Sean's specialties. Sean is a qualified Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator and holds a Diploma in Health and Safety.
