Stringspace was established in 2003 by professional musician Lucie Miller and Actor Richie Cox. Our aim has always been to provide extremely high quality & vibrant musicians for events, and for these events to be extremely well organised. Lucie is from a family of 6 professional musicians. She met Richie whilst working at the Sydney Theatre Company before she started performing regularly in the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra. Richie works behind the scenes at Stringspace, taking care of a number of jobs, including photography, sound files and web technical support. Lucie has arranged & performed on most of the string quartet pop songs that you can hear on our website. She has 2 violin performance degrees - including a Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma from the Sydney Conservatorium (which she achieved whilst on scholarship). Internationally Lucie has toured & performed with the Cologne Philharmonic Orchestra. Nationally she performed in the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra for 7 years, before Stringspace really took over! Lucie also attended the Canberra School of Art & the Sydney College of the Arts, majoring in painting. She also organises a monthly concert series at the Prince of Wales Lodge in Adelaide. Lucie has previously organised music for the Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet, Alannah Hill, Global Television, Australian Film Director Peter Weir, Bono (from U2) & Hopscotch Film Director Troy Lum. Lucie will be the one looking after your entire booking. “I believe it is the combining of our creative talents & technical skills, with our extremely talented and enthusiastic musicians that have formed Stringspace, and made it what it is today.” - Lucie Stringspace has been a huge success and now has teams of musicians based in all the major cities throughout Australia. Our Stringspace HQ is based in Sydney, but our talented performers are nationwide.
