On the 26th February 1986 nineteen people met with a view to commencing a church in the Leeming area. In the early years the Church met in various public buildings and the church grew rapidly. From the beginning the thread that bound the church together was the deep desire to reach out to the community. With this passion for outreach, in 1992 the church opened the Lakeside Recreation Centre. Lakeside is a unique church serving the community through a Recreation Centre. Today Lakeside is a vibrant church that is passionate about seeing people say “yes” to Jesus. It’s a church that still has the deep desire to reach out and impact the community with the message of Christ. It has many programs and activities for the toddler to the senior citizen and provides a wonderful environment for family life with a strong emphasis on children and youth ministry. We come together to celebrate on Sunday mornings at 9.30am on court 1. We’d love you to visit one of our Sunday services. You will find people just like yourself - old, young, tradesman, teachers, students and professionals all of which are at different points in their faith journey. The Lakeside Baptist Church owns and manages the Lakeside Recreation Centre . The Church holds the licence for the Lakeside Lightning which competes in the State Basketball League (Basketball WA).
