The Club has been a favorite venue amongst locals and visitors for over 50 years and has maintained a strong community focus by supporting many local sporting, community and charity groups. Superb dining and bar facilities together with a number of versatile function and meeting rooms catering for up to 300 people combine to provide a one stop recreation venue. 
The Nelson Bay Bowling & Recreation Club Ltd is commonly admired for its lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. The location is excellent, and the services provided are great. Some customers have had issues with the food quality in the past, and there have been instances of rude staff. The facilities offer good views and plenty of parking. The function room and private bar are popular features, and the food is generally considered to be reasonably priced and well-cooked. The view from the establishment is another highlight.
