Clem & Vanessa Cox : Clem and Vanessa’s story is one of passion, patience, and endeavour. In 1997, they were sold 200 hazelnut nursery plants, a large hazelnut cracking machine and the dream of building a hazelnut industry. Their first nursery was on friend’s farm at Budgee Budgee, near Mudgee. Until the trees sold to their first growers began bearing, the Coxes purchased a wide range of hazelnut varieties from Australian growers. They sold value-added kernel at farmers' markets, gleaning valuable information on the unique flavour and cracking performance of different varieties, and consumer acceptance.

MUDGEE HAMPERS - ABOUT US : Mudgee Hampers was founded in 1996 and is the mail-order gift division of Mudgee Gourmet. Both businesses are owned and operated by Mudgee vigneurons, Debbie and Tony McKendry, and specialise in delicious non-perishable foods made in the Mudgee Region of NSW by the districts boutique food producers. Several producers regularly compete in Fine Food Awards and many products have been awarded bronze, silver or gold medals. Mudgee Gourmet's country pantry is located at Vinifera Wines just five minutes from town on Henry Lawson Drive and among the vineyards. There is plenty of parking, a distillery, Spanish style wines and product tastings. Mudgee is the second oldest town west of the Great Divide (Blue Mountains) of New South Wales. The first European settlement in the district was in 1822. It is 500 m above sea level and enjoys a continental Mediterranean climate. Today the old pastoral market town is the vibrant centre of Mudgee Wine Region in the Central Ranges Wine Zone. In addition to viticulture, the Region has experienced rapid growth in non-traditional rural industries (such as olives and lavender) and associated boutique value-adding enterprises. A new range of locally made products - table olives, tapenades, extra virgin olive oils, hazelnuts, verjuice and lavender pamper goods - joined traditional gourmet products, like wine-mustards and farm-house jams and pickles. Visitors to Mudgee Gourmet at Vinifera are encouraged to sample products in a relaxed informal setting, accompanied by use tips, recipes and serving suggestions. Hi I’m Clint, the owner of S&S Meats. I took over ownership of the Shop in 2004, although I have been working here for past 12yrs having started here since leaving school. When I do get a weekend off, I like to sleep, jetski and catch up with old friends. And just recently I married my girl Jenny. G’day from Byron. I have been at S&S Meats for 2½ years. I have been a butcher for 7 yrs. I left school and worked at the Old Mudgee Abattoirs. I’m single but have a young daughter, I spend my weekends with my daughter. S & S Meats in Mudgee is a highly-regarded butcher known for its excellent meat selection and friendly service. Customers frequently discover new items in the freezer, such as duck livers and specialty cuts. The butchers are accommodating and will cut items to order. The beef jerky is a popular recommendation. The shop is beautifully presented and the staff are helpful, informative, and welcoming.
