Vision Statement- Provide high quality live-in and outpatient alcohol rehabilitation service for Indigenous People of the Mount Isa region through: well trained staff using best practices, best care delivery possible, building partnerships in the community, building self esteem and confidence of all clients building peoples capacity to cope with life, and building KASH into the leading rehabilitation centre in Australia. KASH began in 1978, evolving slowly through the years from a site of red dirt, dilapidated dormitories, a chook pen and little else to an industry leading, modern, holistic rehabilitation centre. The KASH Aboriginal Corporation is funded by the Department of Health & Ageing through the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) to provide substance misuse services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with it's service delivery objectives. The Department funds the employment of a Chief Executive Officer, Senior Finance Officer, Finance Officer, Senior Administration Officer, Programs Administrator, four Counselling Support Officers and two Outreach Officers who work within the justice system.
