Feeling overwhelmed or stuck? I’m Rachel Meadows, a psychologist based in Mansfield and founder of M-Ocean Psychology. An Emotion Focused Therapist, working with adults for a wide range of issues and a specialist in youth counselling. Life’s tough moments can leave you feeling anxious, depressed, or unsure of who you are or where you’re headed. If you’re navigating big changes, emotional pain, or struggling with trauma or substance use, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to face it on your own. I provide warm, down-to-earth counselling that helps you reconnect with your emotional wellbeing and take practical steps forward. My background is in youth mental health and the alcohol and other drugs field, I have spent many years training to become an accredited Emotion Focused Practitioner. I offer tailored support for adults and young people aged 12 and above. However, I will accept working with 11-year-olds who have commenced grade 6. For children who are younger, I can offer parenting guidance and strategies rather than individual child therapy. My focus is therapeutic interventions, creating a safe and respectful space to talk things through, at your pace. My approach is informal and relaxed, therapy doesn’t need to feel clinical. There is often laughter in the room, it is the best medicine! Clients often tell me they feel cosy in my therapy room and enjoy the presence of Caramello, the therapy dog. It’s important to me that you feel seen, heard, supported and not judged. I use a mix of proven therapeutic approaches, based on your needs: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps you notice how your thoughts and behaviours affect your mood, and gives you tools to shift patterns that may be holding you back, especially helpful with anxiety and depression. Trauma-focused CBT to assist in processing traumatic events by combining cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive principles. This is evidenced based therapy effective in treating acute stress c
