John has worked in exploration since 1976, specialising in diamonds, and developed Independent Diamond Laboratories in 1984. In 1979 he was involved with the discovery of Argyle, sampling with his wife Maureen Muggeridge. Later, in the 1980s, he headed the operations that led to the discovery of Aires and has continued with other projects, many of which remain high level prospects. John Towie's experience and knowledge makes him one of the leading figures in his field.
