Mardon Meats was opened 29 years ago. The first 22 years being originally owned by Don and Margaret Donaldson, and the last 7 years by Jamie and Veronique Wright. The name "Mardon" was devised by Don, who joined the first 3 letters of his wife's name Margaret to his own. Jamie's father, Arthur Wright, worked part time at the shop. Arthur and his wife Sharon Wright had owned a butcher shop for 31 years. They were both an inspiration to Jamie. Jamie had always wanted to own a butcher shop with his mentor, his father Arthur. However unfortunately, Arthur sadly passed away 8 years ago with cancer. This then prompted Jamie to not let fear stand in his way and call it fait or coincidence, but Don not long after was having heart problems and made a decision to retire. Seven years to this day, Jamie, Veronique, their 7 year old daughter Faith and their three year old son Bailey are the proud owners of Mardon Meats.
