Centre Philosophy The kindergarten’s philosopy is to offer a safe, homelike environment, which supports the individual needs of families based on open communication and provides an anti-bias curriculum which is challenging, stimulating and educationally sound. Our policy manual is available at anytime for parents to look through and is located at the front of the centre. We are licensed to accept 37 children per day. Hours of operation are from 7am to 6pm. Parent Involvement Parents are welcome to visit the centre at any time. We welcome participation and ideas you may have. Pre School Programme Our Pre School teacher conducts a school readiness programme for children in the year prior to their commencement of school. Helen is also qualified to teach in primary schools and as such, has full knowledge of what preparation is required. She is more than happy to discuss this programme with you. Diversity and Difference This centre caters for children with a diverse range of needs - they don’t all converse at the same level, toilet when expected for that age or for whatever reason, behave the same as everyone else. Whenever possible (due to building restraints), we will accept diversity, embrace it and learn more! Your Children Are The Future For Equality We use basic sign language to communicate with babies so they can convey their needs. Similarly, we teach the older children how to sign so they can communicate both now, and later in their lives, with non-verbal people. All our early childhood educators are aware of the needs of every child in our care and are treated with the same respect. Updates in all areas e. Dental, diet are informed from government authorities and passed on to you, as required by regulations.
