Mr Chard and podiatrist's at the Dural Podiatry & Sports Podiatry Centre are committed to bringing the latest treatment methods to patients through continuing education, regularly attending workshops, conferences and seminars pertaining to the latest techniques for achieving the best short term symptom relief and medium to long term rehabilitation of foot and lower limb conditions. Mr Chard is currently pursuing research interests at The University of Sydney within the School of Exercise and Sports Performance as a member of the Children Walking Well Project, and has a particular interest in foot strengthening programs and their relationship to lower limb function. This research is focused on the important influences footwear places on the intrinsic muscle strength and arch development of children. To improve our understanding a state of the art Motion Analysis System similar to that used in the movie industry to create animated characters based on real human movement; such as Gollum from Lord of The Rings - will be used to record children’s body posture, lower limb and foot structure and animate them in real time during action tasks for scrutiny to within 0.05 mm. Mr Chard is committed to improved community awareness of foot and leg conditions and postural awareness via community group support, including sporting clubs, child-care centres, primary and high school seminars / information evenings and injury prevention programs.

He is currently developing foot strengthening protocols, designed to reduce patients dependence on orthotics and improve arch formation.
