Have you ever been in a career that wasn’t what you actually wanted to do? I’ve had a few of them! From a young age there were two things that I wanted to do. Join the Navy so I could see the world, and be a builder. (Yes, there is an option to do both). At age 15 (yes, 15) step one was complete when I entered the Navy. I discovered shortly after, that there were no vacancies for me to build. So they said, “Mr. Creighton, you can be a cook instead”. Long story short, I ended up cooking for years and despised it by the end. Safe to say it was NOT my passion.Image of handyman I’ve taken on a lot of different roles since then, but never truly happy in any of them. Experience In 1994, my wife and I built our first house. I took out a license to build, hired my tradie mates and was their labourer from start to finish. From that experience I gained a great depth of building knowledge and loved every minute of it. Those skills have stayed with me and serve me well today. We have recently renovated our current family home in Cranbourne, turning a tired 1970’s brick veneer into a stunning 21st century home. Again, loved it all. I was making very good money in my last position as a field officer in the finance industry, but money is not the be all to end all. There’s more to life than that. So, it was time to finally do something I love rather than just working to pay the bills. At the start of 2019, Cranbourne Home Improvements was born and today, I’m actually doing a job I love and having the chance to really help other people by providing a quality service. Life is good! Imagine the load off, if you had a local guy you could just call and that list of jobs goes away – I have a wide range of skills and would I’d be happy to help you. It’s often stressful to invite a “stranger” into your home. For your peace of mind, I have current Police Check certification as well as Working with Children certification and I’m fully insured.
