The work of Womens Health In the North (WHIN) aims to strengthen womens health and wellbeing, with a strategic focus on preventing violence against women, sexual and reproductive rights, economic participation and, more recently, the impact of climate change on women.
Company description
Women’s Health In the North (WHIN) operates under the direction of a voluntary Board of Management made up of 10 women elected and appointed by WHIN’s membership. Six women are elected from the membership and an additional four positions are reserved for representatives from local organisations and relevant health and community sectors. WHIN has representation from a two local governments, a community health centre and academia. A number of the Board members are from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds or from organisations whose major focus is on working with CALD communities. Day-to-day, WHIN's work is carried out by a dedicated team of staff and project workers.
