The Robert Stein Vineyard and winery is situated 10 kms North Of Mudgee. Mudgee is located approx. 270kms North West of Sydney, on the edge of the Great Dividing Range. Elevation of Mudgee's Vineyards lie between 400m and 1050m. Surrounding towns of Mudgee include Rylstone, Kandos and Gulgong. The Mudgee Region is a Moderate-climate region. However due to considerable variation in altitude, and the significance of aspect on the many hillside vineyards, there is quite significant variation in climate throughout the region. Despite this variation, even the warmest sites are comparatively cooler than many other Australian regions The Mudgee Valley is characterised by significant winter and spring rainfall, annually about 700mm of rainfall.
