A few years ago I took my engagement and wedding rings in to be re-sized. As they were fairly worn, I advised that I wanted them resized properly - not stretched. I paid quite a lot of extra up front for the estimated cost of the gold required. I went back the next week to collect and found that my over $400 payment was for 2 x obviously stretched rings. I was so furious that I did not raise a fuss in the store at the time (I did not want to be accused of abusive behaviour), that I just walked out with my rings. A year later I happened to be in Natures Emporium (across the road from Proctors), and Dan the jeweller was in residence at the back of the shop. He repaired the rings properly, did a wonderful job (several years later the rings are still in very good condition), and charged me very, very little compared to what I had spent at Proctors. I will always go to Dan and his offsider Jody at Northern Jewellery co. Proctors missed out on a whole family of women who now go to Dan for their bespoke jewellery.

my partner took my engagement ring to be cleaned and needed repair we bought it from antique jeweller as it what I wanted. Got told very rudely that couldn't be repaired was our fault as "you people" buy things this way. We have had it fixed by wonderful people at Ritchers across the rd with no issue. Went in to Proctors to complain about service and told them I was going to put on net and was told they didn't care.
