James Western - Head Chef James joined the team in 2012. James’ love and passion for good food started at a young age where James started his first kitchen role at only 13. Originally from Perth James has trained in many kitchens within the region, aswell as travelling throughout Australia to gain experience in different styles of cooking. Former head chef in The Red Herring, James is passionate about serving the highest quality food with prompt professional service. Using local seasonal produce James and his team continue to wow our customers with each dish. Sophia - Head Barista Sophia is the girl behind our infamous coffee- known to be ‘the best around’ by many of our regular customers. Sophia joined our team in 2012 as one of our waiting staff but her passion and skills as a Barista soon shone through and she has developed into our Head Barista. Sophia’s passion for good coffee is evident from the moment she steps behind the machine and it’s safe to say she is a perfectionist, delivery each coffee to the highest standards. Sophia is constantly searching for the latest coffee trends on the market, on her days off Sophia can be found in Perth’s latest chic café sampling the latest coffee blends and putting her own twist on it to deliver to The Blue Duck. “Adventure in life is good; consistency in coffee even better.”
