I was very disappointed with Better Event Hire from our wedding day. They caused us material stress in the weeks leading up to our wedding; particularly in the last week or two beforehand. They incorrectly measured the marquee size area and therefore recommended the wrong marquee design / type; which they only identified as an issue five days before the wedding (which they did address, however we ended up with a different marquee design which had impacts on our styling and therefore other suppliers' schedules that week, not to mention the schedules of myself and my wife). We were also given the impression that we would be receiving the services of a wedding planner earlier on in our engagement in them, but somewhere along the way that must have changed because they later claimed that they were never providing wedding planning services (I suspect that this coincided with a change in company name and business; however the changes nor the impact of these changes on our relationship with the company were never communicated to us). They also assured us that requested items had been reserved for us, even though we continued to flag that they were being omitted from subsequent item lists; and then later being told that they had not in fact reserved the items for us (or that they don't do this for customers). Their staff were, overall, friendly enough, however the quality of the service as well as some of the items we received were below the standard that one would expect for what we paid. I will acknowledge that when a number of issues were raised to them as soon as we became aware of them (five days out from the wedding), Better Event Hire did attempt to remediate them - however, they should never have happened in the first place. We were also particularly disappointed when, post our wedding, we flagged these issues with the company, however instead of accepting responsibility or acknowledging our disappointment, they chose to place blame elsewhere and even said that they remedied certain issues 'without additional cost' to us (when it should have been done properly in the first place!) Overall - despite them being friendly, based on my experience I would NOT recommend them!
