What is a Certified Practising Conveyancer (CPC) / Licensed Conveyancer? A CPC or Licensed Conveyancer is licensed by the Department of Fair Trading and must have completed an approved two year course in conveyancing. As well as this academic qualification, the conveyancer must have had a minimum of two years practical training working in a conveyancing business before being issued with an unrestricted licence. What is the difference between a conveyancer and a solicitor? A conveyancer specialises in conveyancing. Whilst many solicitors are able to undertake conveyancing work, they often do not specialise in it. Solicitors usually charge significantly more than conveyancers for providing the same service.
