Back in 1998 we opened our first store in Box Hill, Victoria with aspirations to change how Australians eat sushi. Our dream was to take it from high-end Japanese restaurants and make it a fresh, healthy on the go meal available for everyone to enjoy. So successful was the venture, we’re now approaching 170 Sushi Sushi stores nationally, making us the biggest and most loved sushi brand in Australia. We’ve put the impossible to find everywhere and made the complex simple. We’re the sushi pioneers of Australia and that’s a lot to be proud of!

In 1963, ‘Mr Happy’ opened the doors to Canberra’s first Chinese Restaurant. More than 50 years later, the restaurant is still serving traditional Cantonese cuisine to its loyal customers seven days a week. Mr Happy has unfortunately passed on, however his GRANDSON Gavin is now the proud owner, and works to ensure the Happy’s story continues. The restaurants location is second to none, located right in the heart of Canberra City in Garema Place. The same location where Mr Happy opened the original doors. You could be forgiven for missing the small doorway that leads down the stairs to the quiet haven that Happy’s Chinese Restaurant offers away from the hustle and bustle. You will notice the large Great Wall of China painting along one wall, proudly painted many years ago by Jason himself. A true artist, both in the kitchen, and with a paint brush. Gavin looks forward to meeting you, and welcomes the opportunity to offer you a very special meal or two.
Happy's Chinese Restaurant in Canberra is highly regarded for its delicious and efficient service. Customers appreciate the large portions and tasty food, often praising specific dishes like omelettes, garlic prawns, and honey chicken. The atmosphere is described as lively and guests are usually satisfied with the value for money. Some mention the restaurant's location being a bit hidden or down a staircase, but this does not detract from their overall experience.
