WA Training Institute (WATI) was formed in 2006 by Stuart Schonell to fulfil a need in the training market for a training provider willing to customise training to fit the needs of businesses and students across Western Australia - with a particular focus on regional and remote areas. In April 2012 Renae Guthridge took over as CEO of WATI - maintaining the country focus as well as building metropolitan networks. In December 2013 WATI relocated to Busselton and it is from this position it continues to support clients across WA and beyond. WATI offers flexible training methodologies including workplace, face to face, online and paper based external training. These modes of delivery and assessment are all offered in any combination to suit the needs of clients. At WATI the client determines the training and assessment methodology - not WATI. In 2013 WATI formalised strong ties with Black Swan Institute and together the organisations are able to provide a service that no other VET provider in WA can match.
