I was authorised as a Civil Celebrant by the Attorney General in 2004. As well, I am Justice of the Peace, a Public Notary in the ACT, and an Executive Member of Australia Marriage Celebrants Inc. My professional background has been in libraries, including public, special, academic and government libraries, and as a result I believe I know how to assist people in finding precisely what they are looking for. Before my retirement in 2008 from the Public service, I was the Sydney Library Manager for the Migration and Refugee Review Tribunal for ten years. This position required me to have not only a strong and comprehensive knowledge of the Migration Act, but also the wide range of visa classes that exist under Australian legislation. With weddings, as well as other ceremonies, my expertise lies in understanding and determining exactly what people desire, and converting those wishes into a special and unique celebration. Although I have lived the Blue Mountains and Penrith Valley for many years, and have performed many ceremonies in this area, I also conduct ceremonies throughout Sydney, as far north as the Hunter Valley and as far west as Bathurst, and interstate. I had the privilege of performing our youngest daughter’s wedding in 2010, and apart from being a wonderful and joyous experience, it gave me a firsthand view of wedding preparations from the “other side of the desk”. I am also on the Executive Committee of the Australian Marriage Celebrant Inc. The AMC is a directory of Authorised Marriage Celebrants around Australia who are members of the Association.
