We can trace our beginning back to the 1970's, when the manager of the Australian-owned parent company (called Slicker Stickers) was having difficulty with one of his children at school. A teacher, after discovering what this boy's father did for business, asked whether it was possible to create a range of stickers that could be used to assist students with their learning. After consulting with the company's graphic designer, the manager of Slicker Stickers presented the first 'catalogue' to his child's teacher. It was simply a piece of paper with three sticker designs stuck onto it! The idea of using stickers to reward school children soon took off, and over the next 30 years, the range expanded from 3 stickers, to 300, trading under the name of School Merit Stickers. After much positive feedback from teachers about the fantastic effect our stickers were having with children & many requests for more 'School Merit' products, School Merit Stickers

Carol started dancing with Gilkinsons in her early teens & did her Gold Medals with Robert Gilkinson. Later she trained to be a dance teacher at Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Perth. Wayne answered an advert for dance teachers & got a job with Arthur Murray Dance Studios a few years after Carol started. A sports nut the active lifestyle was a big attraction. Of course the lady teachers were delightful too & that is how Carol & Wayne got together. Liselle is a natural dancer with a bubbly personality to put everyone at ease. Besides our dance classes she teaches Zumba & does Brazilian Samba shows with her sister´s Latin Dance Group. Zoe has medals galore through her extensive experience with Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop & Tap. Ballroom & Latin are a breeze for her. An experienced choreographer she can do lessons in Port Kennedy for those further away. Most classes at Cutler´s give you the benefit of 2 skilled teachers. With two teachers you will grasp the concepts easier and faster. All teachers know the guys & lady´s moves inside out & break it down so anyone can learn. " We were trained to be professional dance teachers (rather than dancers who take up teaching ). Our proven methods get wonderful results & we make it fun & easy. Many students are with us for 4-10-15 years mostly due to the social dances we have every saturday & their desire to do more moves each time they come" Join us soon!

Dance school Valerie Heston School of Dance is a family-run dance studio with a long-standing reputation for inclusive and high-quality teaching. New and returning students are welcomed warmly, creating a nurturing environment for dancers from toddlers to teens. The instructions for parking seemed to have caused an issue for one visitor, but the school is highly recommended for its professional service and affordable prices.
