Kimbeny Patternmaking was established in 1990 by Greg & Debbie Tyrrell. Greg (an engineering patternmaker) did his apprenticeship with a large thermoforming company in Brookvale. Once qualified he moved to a standalone pattern shop, gaining experience across the wide range of industries that utilise patternmaking skills. He then moved on to setup a patternshop in another company before establishing his own company with his wife Debbie. The company name Kimbeny is a combination of the couples 2 children’s names of Kimberly and Benjamin. Greg’s quality workmanship supported by Debbie’s administrative skills saw the business establish quickly and strongly in Sydney. A Fused Deposition modelling machine was acquired in 2008 to complement the wide range of traditional machine and services already held and offered by Kimbeny. Solidworks was bought to support the FDM machine and move the business forward. 2009 saw the introduction of a new CNC Haas machining centre. 2010 expanded the business by taking over the silicone and urethane moulding part of Swellcast as its owner moved overseas. 2011 saw further expansion with the experienced, talented Design and Solidworks consultant Daen Simmat now working alongside Greg & Debbie.
