Ballarat Home Brew Centre Roger and Averil Eatts took over management of the Ballarat Home Brew Centre in November 2000 just after the race horse ‘Brew’ won the Melbourne Cup. Averil has learnt a lot in the past 11 years at Ballarat Home Brew Center. She can suggest the right additives to get the best home brewed beer, cider or ginger beer. She understands the importance of gluten, dairy, nut or yeast free bread mixes for those with specific dietary requirements and is able to offer advice and recipes. Spelt Flour is also available for low tolerance of the modern wheat. Wayne, Averil’s brother-in-law, started work at the shop in August 2009. Making a busy and interesting change to truck driving, he was able to increase his passion from his own home bar ‘Down The Gurgular’ to brewing different beers in the shop’s kegerator for customers to try. The Ballarat Home Brew Centre is a family affair and you will often see the Eatts children: Jeremy, Corinna, Elisha and Shona in the store. You might even meet Averil's little sister, Cia (Wayne's wife) or perhaps some other relations coming in to lend a hand.
