Lindsay House Named after Edith Dulce Lindsay has undergone substancial 'surgery' to what was once the home and practice of business of Dr Walter Eli Harris for whom it was built in 1917. It subsequently became home to an architects establishment and was later purchased and annexed by UNE in 1972. It was then privately purchased and restoration began in 1999. Extensive restorations to convert Lindsay House into New England's finest Country House Hotel were completed in September of 1999, providing the ideal venue in the region for a unique stay or special occasion. Armidale and the New England Region offer a wide variety of activities and attractions. Theres 'Waterfall Way Tours', horse riding, helicopter rides over the gorges, lure and fly-fishing for trout, gold and gemstone fossicking, world heritage national parks, art galleries, live theatre, museums, restaurants, wineries, just to name a few.

History The original building of Whitebull Hotel was constructed in 1876 and the hotel was called initially The Robert Burns Hotel (after the Scottish poet, who wrote Auld Lang Syne). Then from 1878 until 1888 the business went under the ‘imaginative’ name of Armidale No. From 1889 it was called The Club Hotel, and in 2006 it was reborn ... Whitebull Hotel. The extensive renovation of 2005-06 deliberately retained some of the fine characteristics of the classical building and times. The façade is a good example of this as the renovation made sure the Flemish bond brickwork is still revealed to the public, and it beautifully displays the famous Armidale Blue bricks, surrounded by white mortar. Ownership & Management Whitebull Hotel is currently owned by Kirk and Michelle Vidler, originally from Coffs Harbour, they have now settled into the great New England town of Armidale. The hotel is not only locally owned and operated, but has a strong ‘hands on’ management approach evolved from Kirk and Michelle’s experience in having owned and operated The Moonee Beach Tavern (Moonee Beach near Coffs Harbour), The Coffee House Apartment Motel and Restaruant (Rockhampton) and The Bellingen Hotel (Bellingen). Kirk and Michelle, together with their excellent young management team have a serious commitment to maintaining The Whitebull’s award winning reputation, having previously won the prestigious AHA Judge’s Special Commendation for Excellence Award and the Armidale Business Chamber Award for Pubs and Clubs.
