Dan is a registered Osteopath, having completed an accredited 5 year program at Southern Cross University, and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA). Previously, Dan was a Remedial Massage therapist practising in the Sydney and Northern Rivers areas for 25 years, during which time he studied various other bodywork modalities, such as craniosacral therapy, positional release, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, and balanced ligamentous tension. Dan is highly experienced in examination and diagnostic methods, which are necessary to find the source of a person's pain or dysfunction. He takes a whole person approach, looking at the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of the individual. The art of Osteopathy is in being able to listen to the person on all these levels, and give them the exact treatment they need. During treatment, Dan can draw from an array of manual therapy techniques, but finds the gentler Osteopathic methods create a deeper and longer lasting improvement in a person's health and wellbeing. If he feels a person needs firmer treatment methods however, he is able to use these safely and effectively, as long as the person is comfortable with these techniques. In reality, Dan finds such techniques are rarely needed. The gentler techniques are quite powerful as they create a safe, supportive space for the person's body to heal itself, which is one of the core principles of Osteopathy. Treating the person in this way respects the wisdom of the body and the healing power within.
