Board Members CEO & Management Company Statements Quality As an experienced service provider, delivering services since 1975, and attracting its first recurrent Federal Government funding from 1984, Merriwa has had many years’ experience in both commercial operations and the provision of services to people with a disability or who are vulnerable in our community. Merriwa operates a series of businesses with the main focus being in the timber and packaging areas. The company’s business operations incorporate trade with over 140 regular customers as well as more than 100 individual care recipients accessing a range of services via our ‘Community Access and Accommodation Support Service’ (CAASS). The CAASS division of Merriwa Industries Ltd provides a range of services to people with a disability, including those with behaviours of concern within the Department of Human Services Victoria, Eastern Division. These services have been developed to provide quality Shared Supported Accommodation, Facility Based Respite, Flexible Respite, Child Protection Services, Crisis Care, After School Services, Day Services, Rural Day Services, Holiday Programs, and Individualised Service Packages. As well as two supported residential services located in Bright and Cobram, where we provide 24 hour support, and care for up to 30 vulnerable people at any one time. Merriwa receives a small amount of funding from the Department of Social Services which is dedicated to providing on the job support and training to 80+ employees who have a recognised disability. Many who currently work in the packaging area. All commercially based employees are employed under a modern award and enjoy good conditions of employment. Merriwa is a well respected Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) and is currently preparing itself for the future.
