Broadcasting began on December 16, 1931 as 2CO on what is now ABC Riverina's AM 675 transmitter at Corowa on the Murray River. 2CO was one of the initial 12 stations under the ABC banner when the Australian Broadcasting Commission was launched at 8pm on July 1, 1932. It quickly became an important part of the community, with its powerful signal covering the South West of NSW and North East Victoria.
