• Log Catcher – One of the biggest complaints from many homeowners is that they have to continuously bend down to collect the split wood; a catcher will hold the log to one side until you are ready to quarter it. This will save your back from having to bend down all the time and is very easy to install – it simply bolts onto the side of the splitter beam.
• Cradle Kit – This performs a similar function to a log catcher, except it is able to hold even quartered logs. This will prevent you from having to bend down at all, which is fantastic if you have back problems. These kits are built using steel, so you know that they will last a long time, and they are easily mounted to the machine via pre-existing holes.
As you can see, there are a number of log splitter accessories currently on the market that will make your life much easier, whether it aids you in cutting up firewood or whether it protects your machine. Make sure that you only purchase accessories that are suited to your particular brand and model, as many items are specially designed.
