Geoff began working in the building industry in the New England area of New South Wales before moving to the Taree area in 1980. After years working in the local area he opened his own building company, Maynard Constructions in 1991. Since then, Geoff has built an excellent reputation in the Taree area. Geoff has taught his skills to many young builders, including his 2 sons and son-in-law, who all currently work with Geoff at Maynard Constructions. Training is very important to Geoff, who always encourages his builders to complete an apprenticeship under his guidance. Geoff's wife, Helen Maynard is also part of the family business. Not only is she owner of the business with Geoff, she is also in charge of accounts and communication with clients and suppliers.
