Monsterthreads is a brand of whimsy, art and magic. Art infused products mix folk art, character illustration, street art and contemporary graphic design. Working with some amazing personalities from the art world, they present art which is exciting yet highly relatable. Like many Australian brands, their beginnings were small. Co-founders Mark Mamrot and Kaew Pongpaet started Monsterthreads at Glebe and Bondi markets in Sydney. Initially, intended as a side project and a bit of fun, the brand developed a strong following quite quickly. To free up time to focus on the business, Mark quit his midway through his honours year in Marine Science. Soon Mark and Kaew were working 60-80 hour weeks trying to keep things together. When their real estate agent came to do an inspection of the tiny 2 bedroom apartment they were renting in Randwick and couldn't get into one of the bedrooms because it was so stuffed full of boxes of tshirts, a choice had to be made - take it to the next level or

A little bit about us.... The Oak Barrel is one of Australia’s oldest bottle shops. Since being founded in 1956, the Oak Barrel has prided itself on exceeding customer expectations through providing an amazing range of boutique and hard to find wine, craft beer and spirits, superior information, as well as excellence in customer service. Our range of wine and spirit education events exceed industry standards. Today the Oak Barrel is owned by wine enthusiast Dr Paul Downie. He has built a team that shares his passion and knowledge, providing the best possible experience to their customers. There has been extensive renovations made to the store, including a Cellar Room for hosting tastings and masterclasses, and the Vault - a temperature and humidity controlled room where fine back vintage and rare wine gems are held. One of the most appealing qualities of independent bottle shops is their access to the finest range of boutique and natural (organic) wines, malt whiskies, craft beers and ciders that are not available in larger shops. This unique offering and the staff’s ability to recognise incredible wines, whiskies, spirits and beers is what makes the Oak Barrel one of Australia’s premier stores.
