I'm a Psychologist (Clinical Psychology Registrar) and PhD (Clinical Psychology) Candidate at the University of Wollongong. I am based in Surry Hills, NSW. Who I’ve worked with Children, adolescents, and adults across various settings. These include university child and adult clinics, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, private practice and Headspace. In my therapy sessions, I use a caring, rapport-based, client-centered approach in order to create a safe and open environment for my clients. My work with adolescents and adults include helping people with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, trauma, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, phobias, major life stresses, and relationship difficulties. I'm especially interested in helping individuals with cultural/identity issues relating to mental health difficulties. I ran group treatment for people with borderline personality disorder and mood disorders at a private mental health hospital in Wollongong. I've worked with children experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bullying, and trauma. I also provided parenting support and ran group programmes for parents of children with behavioural concerns. My doctoral thesis focuses on children's understanding and experience of moral emotions (e.g. guilt and sympathy), while taking cross-cultural parenting approaches into account. I'm from Singapore, so I understand the difficulties of adjusting to a new country, and the challenges of discovering one's cultural identity. My goal is to help clients understand how their past influences the present, and to learn skills to create the life they want to live.
