Helena Richardson-Collins is an artist based in Bendigo, Victoria. She produces art under the name runs Llanvair.H.R. Working in and across a variety of media, but with an emphasis on the use of silk, she creates pure works of painted art, and unique silk clothing as “wearable art”. Helena Richardson-Collins displays her portfolio of work is displayed at her web site, and includes: Acrylics – one-off pieces inspired by the Australian landscape, and using paint-strokes to evoke movement and dance. Oils – generous brushstrokes create vibrant colour and texture. Prices range from $1, 000-$5, 000. Pieces may be commissioned. Silk Painting – landscape-inspired pieces conceived as aerial views. Prices range from $1, 000-$4, 000. Silk Art Pieces – garments created individually from two-metre pieces of high quality imported silk. These are first painted, and then embellished with beading detail. These garments are much favoured for weddings and other special occasions. Felted Art Pieces – created using bold colours and soft fibre textures, these are one-off wearable designs that transcend the two-dimensional limitations normally imposed by textiles. The felt is hand-made by Helena Richardson-Collins, using traditional felt-working techniques. Helena Richardson-Collins’s work has been exhibited in public and private galleries in Australia and in private homes throughout the world, in Europe, United Kingdom, United States of America, China, Scotland and Japan.
