Many builders today are what the industry calls “volume” builders. These builders buy up full estates or large volumes of empty land and build “stock-standard” houses on it and sell them off as a cheap “House and Land” package.
These houses are all basic designs and you, as the customer, ends up with the same house your neighbour has. So the value is there but at the same time that these builders are churning out value for money houses, they are churning them out quickly. This leads to shoddy workmanship and poor quality houses.
