Sewing.au is the latest development for a family business with sewing machine experience going back to the 1960s. In 1969, Diamond Sewing Centres was set up with a number of locations in the Sydney metropolitian area, including Newtown, Campbelltown, Rockdale and a dealership at the Elna head office in Clarence Street in the Sydney CBD. In 1974, Diamond Sewing Services Pty Ltd was established. In the years that followed, the family business gained a solid background in industrial and domestic machines. Dealership experience included names such as Babylock, Bernina, Brother, Elna, Husqvarna, Janome, Juki, Singer, Toyota, plus a range of other brands to earn the company numerous Performance Awards in sales, service and repairs. In the 1980s, the business began trading on the Gold Coast in Queensland. In 1995, our Rockdale store established the first sewing machine website in Australia. Our online activities have since evolved into the Sewing.au website which you see here today. In 1998, the family moved all operations and head office to the Gold Coast and today can be found at the one location at 6/37 Bailey Crescent in Southport. The end result is a trusted track record with both domestic and industrial sewing machines and overlockers.
