Safe Work College was established in 1990 to provide quality occupational health and safety training. Thousands of employers, employer representatives and workers have gained additional knowledge and skills through their participation in occupational health and safety courses provided by the college. Research has shown that many workplace health and safety representatives and many workplace health and safety officers have used the knowledge and skills acquired through their participation in Safe Work training courses to make the workplace a healthier and safer place in which to work. Safe Work College operates three modern training rooms at its South Brisbane headquarters. The College also conducts in-house training courses in workplaces throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory. Safe Work College is not merely a very successful provider of good quality occupational health and safety training courses. The College is also actively involved in occupational health and safety research, the development and review of legislation (Act, regulations, advisory standards and industry codes of practice) as well as guidance material. The College also operates as a consultancy for employers and unions. Safe Work attributes its success to a team of highly qualified, experienced, dedicated professionals who develop and deliver its training courses. All members of the Safe Work team have a fundamental commitment to occupational health and safety.
